HASAN SABBAH, ASSASINS AND FAKE HEAVEN
The creepy stories about
Hasan Sabbah and his Fedayeen are known by many people. This organization,
known as Hashkashis and living in the Alamut castle (eagle's nest), accelerated
the collapse of the Seljuk State and carried out many bloody assassinations,
primarily in the Nizamülmülk (the Seljuk vizier). Thus, the word assassin,
which means murder in Latin languages, comes from the word of hashasin.
But, what were the reasons of the
Fedayeen being so brave, even though they were few? In this respect, we
can see what one can do when he believes, especially in bad purposes.
When the historical sources are examined, we see that
the Fedayeen have undergone very difficult education processes since childhood.
In this process, they have passed an intensive political education (Ishmael
teaching) beyond the lessons of science and military. Because
the young people who were brainwashed at these ages are more likely to be
a Fedayeen
and go to die happily. In addition, the attacks of the Seljuk State aimed at
the Ismaili sect were effectively abused on the children of those who died in
these attacks. The imposition of the idea that his father had
been unjustly killed by the State and subjected to torture for many years and
the use of these traumas in children for this purpose has been taken as a model
by many terrorist organizations even today.
However, the
training was not enough to turn these Fedayeen into a killing machine. At
this point, Hasan Sababah's project, which he worked on for years, has been put
into operation. Fake Heaven…The natural wonder surrounding the castle of Alamut
started to make their garden a corner from heaven. First of all, he started his project by locating the most beautiful slave
girls in these gardens. These girls, who have suffered many difficulties as
slaves for years, have been fascinated by the beauty of these gardens and
started to serve to Hasan Sabbah with the consciousness of absolute obedience.
The
stories told by the Fedayeen returning from the heaven spread among the
other Fedayeen and even Seljuk soldiers. From that moment on, the only
goal for the Fedayeen who saw so-called paradise is to go back to heaven
again. Therefore,
they were ready to sacrifice their lives. According to a rumor, when the Seljuk
army was besieging the fortress, a representative from Seljuk Army came to the
presence of Hasan Sabbah to surrender the castle. In order to intimidate him,
Sabbah ordered one of the Fedayeen who had sent to so-called Paradise to throw
himself down from the castle and choosed another
Fedayeen to kill himself with a dagger. The Fedayeen unconditionally fulfilled
this order. Because they believe that they can go to heaven again when they
obey the order. Here is Hasan Sabbah who has conducted the bloodiest
assassinations in history and sent his Fedayeen and concubines to the even
Seljuks palace to kill state representatives. Here is the famous story of the
Hashasin...
Terrorist organizations do
not allow the welfare levels of societies which have potential targets to rise,
abuse the past traumas and from childhood impose the idea that
individuals who die in line with the organization's ambitions will go to
heaven. In countries where terror is intense, the welfare level of the
people is low and terrorist organizations do not allow people to thrive and
live in a peaceful environment. Young individuals have limited
dreams and imagery and are far from normal people's ideas. For this reason,
they can easily give up their individual identity and adapt their organizational
identity. At this point, the purpose of states must be to keep the social
and economic level of the people at the highest level and to ensure that
individuals feel valuable. Children who feel self-esteem and who can dream
about the future do not give up easily from their individual identities.
